Solitude
This day denies that summer ever lived
The cold it is bitter like a love betrayed
And we have left behind our former days
As we become the friends of solitude
The light it is dying slowly to the west
Just like the sense it made of where we’ve been
But still we walk the way we think we should
As we become the friends of solitude
No water breaks
On rocks as hard as these
Emotions running through the soul
We say we love but still we hate and so
I place my trust in higher things
God grant me hope so I can sing
So here inside the walls that ever keep us pressed
Our words rebound affirming our belief
That over time we did all we could
Before becoming friends of solitude
