Street (Acoustic)
These roads that I travel the small things I’ve stolen the
life that I lead
When all is unravelled tell me what will the payment be
For life in this gutter I cough and I stutter, my slow goodbye
Yet I might still survive
If you will help me to my feet don’t leave me
Cos I’m hard upon these streets and lonely
And I am just a child if only
I wasn’t out of sight and out of mind
Like some fear you’ve left behind
And is love just a business or does somebody really care about
me
See through my afflictions these Trojan addictions and take me for
who I am
I hide from the killers, disease and eviction – my slow goodbye
Yet I might still survive
If you will help me to my feet don’t leave me
Cos I’m hard upon these streets and lonely
And I am just a child if only
I wasn’t out of sight and out of mind
Like some fear you’ve left behind
And Jesus I’ve heard of you maybe you’ll reach out
to me
Through the hand of those who follow you
And through the justice they could bring
Maybe I’ll hear the angels sing
If you will help me to my feet don’t leave me
Cos I’m hard upon these streets and lonely
And I am just a child if only
I wasn’t out of sight and out of mind
If I was given all the chances that were mine
Do I play upon your conscience is it time
You helped me leave my fear behind
