Water & Light

Exciting times at Heading West Music just now. Gareth is in the middle of finishing his third solo album with sessions this last few weeks at The Foundry Music lab in Motherwell. To be called "Water & Light" it's due out in mid-May 2008 and is shaping up to be a cracker. We've already had some sepcial guest vocalists in the studio including North East singer-songwriter Jez Lowe and the hugely talented Yvonne Lyon . Look out for sneak preview sample tracks on MySpace from 4th April onwards. We'll give you more launch plans as they develop. In the meantime you can pre-order your copy by visiting the Heading West Music shop.

Living Rooms & Celtic Connections

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our visitors and supporters. Gareth is already out and about doing some Living Room Gigs this month. They're a wonderful informal and fun way to hear a bit more about his work and listen to the songs up close and unplugged in your own Living Room. They're really easy to set up and very reasonably priced so drop us a line on 01661854877 or use the contact section to make an enquiry about them. Two others snippets of news - we're delighted that Gareth will be playing at the Danny Kyle Stage (Glasgow Royal Concert Hall) at the Celtic Connections Festival this Friday (18th January). He'll be doing a 5-song slot between 5-7pm so get along if you're free. And finally work on recording the new album begins on Feburary 25th at The Foundry in Motherwell. We're hoping that unlike last time the sessions stay snow-free - cold feet all round but ah it was pretty ! Bye for now.

Winter Creativity

So the busy Autumn Tours are done and Gareth is getting down to finishing the songs for the New album. Did we mention there's a new album on the way in April 2008 ? With some exciting guests, and some new themes it's going to be a good one so keep dropping by for the latest news. There's one more chance to see Gareth live this year - at The Acoustic Cafe in Edinburgh on Saturday 1st December (Doors 7.30pm). With Jamie Wilson as the special guest it'll be a great way to kick off your Christmas season. Hope to see you there. Autumn FT Tour Kicks Off

Gareth's Autumn Tour with Rob Halligan and in support of Traidcraft kicks off tonight at the Georgian Theatre in Stockton on Tees. For all the dates check out our LIVE section. There's also a special gig at THE BRIDGE HOTEL, Castle Garth, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE1 1RQ on THURSDAY 4th OCTOBER. This is the only public North East gig on the tour so if you're free it'd be great to see you there. Tickets are £5 on the night and doors open at 7.30pm.
