New Recording: "THE YORKHILL SESSIONS"
Gareth has recorded vocals for 2 tracks on a new compilation album called "The Yorkhill Sessions". All the songs were written by young people in Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow during art therapy sessions run by singer-songwriter's Yvonne Lyon and Jo Mango. All of the proceeds are going to support the work of Yorkhill Youth Services who use the Arts to aid recovery and care. Late Autumn & 2007 Tours
Gareth's next two gigs will be as support for the wonderful Karine Polwart at The Sage, Gateshead and The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal. If you've not heard Karine's music then check it out here . After that there is a solo gig in Allendale on 18th November followed by a short 3 date collaboration with Paul Field in the North East and Scotland 23rd-25th November. The 'season' rounds off with solo gigs in London (Morden) and the Midlands (Bromsgrove) on the second weekend of December.

Plans are currently coming together for a Fair Trade Fortnight Solo Tour at the start of March 2007 and a wider solo tour in May/June 2007. If you're interested in this or in bookings for any other time then you can get in touch with us at headingwestmusic@btinternet.com or 01661854877.

Touring Again & Traidcraft
This year's Autumn Acoustic Tour featuring Gareth and Rob Halligan is now underway. After two great gigs in Aberdeen to kick things off the chaps are off to Warminster next weekend (29th September) and on into another 14 dates around the country until the end of October. As previously there is an emphasis on Fair Trade and Trade Justice. In particular this year Traidcraft - Britain's largest Fair Trade Company - is backing the dates and supplying much of the literature and refreshments at the various venues. Check out the Live Section for all dates and get along if there's one near you. More exciting news soon about Gareth's late Autumn schedule, a major Tour support slot and an update on plans for 2007.

"RISING" MP3 FEATURED BY BMS
Gareth's song "Rising" from the new album was very much inspired by the recovery stories and experiences of some of the Dalit people affected by the Asian Tsunami. BMS are one organisation who work closely with these people to help them rebuild their lives and livelihoods and regain some hope. Gareth performed the song at the BMS session of the national Baptist Assembly earlier this year in Brighton and you can read more about BMS's work and hear "Rising" in full by visiting them here
